Starting as a Marketing Assistant in 2015, I was the only employee assigned to Marketing duties. Over my 5 years with Rigibore I have built a rounded marketing strategy to increase awareness and grow the brand. My duties have included:• Writing key word targeted blogs to improve visibility on search engines such as Google and Bing.• Producing content to keep information on the website up to date and informative.• Liaising with partner companies and specialist marketing organisations to produce detailed case studies and product overviews.• Running social media campaigns and blogging to ensure growth and engagement with potential customers.• Attending exhibitions and networking to increase knowledge of Rigibore products• Using Adobe InDesign and Premier Pro to create informative and engaging product content.Working as the sole employee on marketing for Rigibore across three branches (UK, US and India) developed my communication skills and identified the importance of using my initiative and prioritising key tasks.

madeincornwall.com is an embryonic e.commerce shopping Mall designed to provide a supportive platform for businesses in Cornwall to showcase their products or services.My role is concerned with providing support and assistance to businesses, helping them through every stage of setting up the shop ready for the launch date on July 2nd. Through email, telephone calls or even meetings in person it is important to ensure the information I provide is clear and accurate, allowing these businesses to create the most successful online shop.Other duties for this role include applying Search Engine Optimisation techniques to improve the websites rank on many of the major search engines and gain exposure in an international market. I also play a role in designing and carrying out a clear and concise social media traffic, applying a number of specialist tools such as Hootsuite to maximise my effectiveness. Being a part of this fantastic project has improved my understanding and skill in working with clients, strengthening my communication and organisation skills. Due to the mall opening on July 2nd, it is also important to apply key skills such as time management, and prioritisation to ensure Made In Cornwall is in the best possible position.

As part of a University module I liaised with Plymouth County Councils Sports Development Unit with the goal on engaging in a better and more efficient way with the public via Social Media forms. Firstly a meeting was undertaken with Plymouth County Council identifying current Social Media habits and the target demographic. Then with the help of the rest of my team, devised a accurate and efficient Social Media strategy based on findings from both local and national qualitative and quantitative research.Social Media is becoming an increasingly prominent area of modern day organisational practice, and having an opportunity to apply learnt skills in a practical environment has been key in my development.

During my time on this University placement I had to opportunity to conduct a wide range of job roles, learning and developing my skills in a dynamic and fast paced retail environment, some of these duties included • Conducting and facilitating a successful interview process for the most seasonal store in the country• Conducting audits for staffing training, making sure all staff were appropriately trained and the organisation complied with legal obligations• Completing payroll and budgeting tasks, I was responsible for making sure staff members were paid on time in the correct amount, as well as making sure the store kept to budget, not overspending on overtime.This placement taught me both academic and general skills such as working as part of a team, using initiative and organisations. These skills are not only vital to modern day organisation practice but transferable to any organisation

For this 3 month project in a small group of just 3, the goal was to obtain contacts with Oxford University in order to gain publicity for Apples student discount scheme. With only a short period of time to gain contacts it was important for me to be organised, targeting the key segments and travelling to Oxford to meet with these clients.Overall this was a successful project, gaining exposure and creating a relationship between Apple and Oxford University. I benefited from a number of skills including leadership, organisation skills and strong confidence to establish relationships between Apple and Oxford University.

My role as general kitchen assistant at a busy restaurant included replenishing dishes ready to be re-used, and preparation of various meals. This being my first job taught me a number of key skills including timekeeping, organisation and teamwork.
