US Army CCDC Aviation and Missile Center - Prototype Integration Facility

Responsibilities: Assisted in design, improvement, and installment of Disney’s California Adventure’s new innovative ride system for Spider-Man.Maximized knowledge in construction safety, installation, and testing methods.Projects:Retrofit Electric Seat Belt Design | Upgraded the resort wide pneumatic seat belt design. Partnered with fellow interns across mechanical, hardware, and software fields to convert the obsolete pneumatic system to a compact electric system with similar form factor. Developed a prototype for practical testing and proof of concept.Disneyland’s Spider-Man Attraction | Aided in creating and updating drawings, as well as assisted in installation and analysis of attraction.Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind | Participated in installation and commissioning, as well as developed documentation for state inspection.

Responsibilities: Collaborated with Engineering Services to keep and improve operational demands for attractions.Gained technical and problem-solving skills through field maintenance and attraction testing.Projects:Incredicoaster Maintenance Cart | Maintenance cart for refurbished attraction newly named Incredicoaster. Designed a light-weight maintenance cart to more easily transport LIM stators up the lift hill in order to make the maintenance procedure safer and more efficient. Met with maintenance cast members to discuss the need of the cart and its requested performance to accurately assess the design requirements. Performed FEA in SolidWorks Simulation to determine the durability of the cart. Performed and met with Staff Engineers to discuss the Hazard Analysis of the operation of the new maintenance cart. Created drawings for maintenance cart production. Formalized a report in Mathcad to showcase design criteria and design methods as well as strength and load calculations.Grizzly River Rapids Sensor Mount | Analyzed the reliability of adding new sensors to Grizzly River Rapids Attraction to increase throughput. Assed the job site to analyze the design constraints of the position of the new sensors. Designed a prototype to test the clearance restraints and reliability of the sensors signal strength. Created a 3D model, drawing, and manufactured new brackets to replace obsolete sensors.Attraction Testing | Collected acceleration, vibration and other data, and utilized load cells for Operational Test Plan (OTP), Attraction Test Plan (ATP), and other testing as needed at various attractions. Some tests include the following:- Incredicoaster Brake Penetration Test- Soarin’ (VFD, E-Stop, Brake Pull)- Pixar Pal-A-Round Brake Fin Test- Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout VAR Compensator Test- Matterhorn OTP/ATP- It’s a Small World Bump Test- Big Thunder Mountain Speed Adjust Test

Organized and managed 12 students to run a 24-hour staffed Resident Hall front desk.Scheduled meetings to implement disciplinary action when necessary.

Responsibilities: Led meetings with partners to discuss project details to increase the efficiency of the task.Developed and collaborated on projects to improve the safety and efficiency of the facility.Projects:Pillowcase Conveyor Rebuild | Assed an ergonomic concern with operations cast members reaching too low to insert linen products in the ironing/folding machine. Collaborated with a Sustaining Engineering to decide the best solution and provide feedback on solution. Designed a new support rack for conveyor system in AutoCAD.Mechanical Room Piping | Responsible for improving the resources to the facility systems. Documented various piping such as water heating and thermal fluid systems to improve knowledge of the workspace, so that work can be performed efficiently and safely. This documentation was performed in AutoCAD. Ironer Bearing Job Plan | Executed improving the knowledge of the ironer bearing maintenance procedure. Met with maintenance cast members to find the most reliable amount of grease to be used in the procedure and the frequency of the procedure. Implemented a new maintenance procedure to increase the reliability of the laundry ironers and saved an annual replacement of $12,000 per bearing over 20 bearings across all ironers in the facility.Chicago Ironer Preventative Maintenance | Initiated a job plan for three incoming ironers. Met with vendor to discuss the frequency of the procedures on a daily, weekly, annual, and semi-annual basis. Coordinated with maintenance cast members to define the scope of each task and analyzed the workload and time associated to complete the task. Launched maintenance procedures for new ironers to improve life span.

Global Entertainment: Jan. - May 2017Efficiently directed 30-40 groups per hour to provide memorable experiences for each guest.Attractions: May - July 2017Interacted with 4,000 guests an hour, while ensuring a safe viewing of the nighttime show Fantasmic.Engineering Professional Development Studies:Participated in numerous tours to learn more about the job task Engineers at Disney perform daily.
