I’m responsible for a small team of Bid Solution Managers working on opportunities in the Healthcare, Higher Education and Local Authority Sectors. I manage my own bids, but also oversee the solutions and responses for all bids within the sectors. This has led to the retention of key contracts and securing new contract wins.

I was responsible for the bid management and writing of opportunities in the Healthcare, Education and Local Authority Sectors. I managed a team of 3 Bid Managers and worked with the sales team in developing bespoke solutions for individual clients. In addition, I developed the approach for the creation of value propositions and messaging which led to new contract wins valued in excess of £8 million per annum.

The sales lead for school catering contracts within the primary and secondary education sector. A key focus of the role was rebuilding the value proposition and positioning within the market and building the sales pipeline. I was responsible for the front-end sales, development of the bid solution, writing submissions, pricing and undertaking sales presentations. This led to £6 million per annum of new contract wins and retention's.

A senior role within the sales team, where I managed a central bid support team of 8 colleagues providing bid management, solution development, writing and graphics support to facilities management bids in the public and private sector. I held a budget in excess of £1 million per annum, created an electronic central bid library and managed the Salesforce CRM system (sales pipeline reporting). As part of this role, I worked on strategically important bids which generated £40 million per annum in new contract wins.

I played a pivotal role in supporting Willmott Dixon to achieve a 40% growth in turnover and transforming their tender success rate to circa 50%. I created a high performing national bid team (7 people), developed a sales proposition for the housing sector, worked on bespoke solutions for individual clients and managed a programme of tender opportunities.

I was responsible for overseeing the bid management of opportunities where we secured >£1 billion in order book of new contract wins. I managed a national team of six bid professionals, created a bid managers toolkit and designed a bespoke CRM database. I additionally supported the mobilisation of a large joint venture contract focusing on the communication and branding work streams.

Anglian Water acquired Morrison and I transferred to become a member of the national bid team. I reported to the National Bid Director and was tasked with undertaking a market research exercise where all prospective clients were identified and contacted. In addition, I supported the team in the preparation of pre-qualification and tender responses across the UK.

I am very grateful to Anglian Water for providing me with an excellent opportunity to learn and experience different roles through a structured secondment based graduate programme. - Project Manager: I undertook a 6-month secondment where I was responsible for managing the financial and legal work streams for the restructuring of Anglian Water. I also managed a number of operational projects associated with wastewater process improvement. In these roles I followed the PRINCE 2 methodology (completing all necessary documentation), liaised with a diverse group of stakeholders (e.g. board director, senior managers, operational colleagues and support functions) and used Microsoft Project to identify the critical workflow, dependencies and produce RAG reports - Change Manager: I reviewed a number of processes within the business customer billing system and identified a number of IT changes to improve cost efficiency and reduce debt - Management Accounts Support: I was responsible for liaising with financial managers across the business and producing group consolidated management accounts (e.g. P&L and balance sheets) - Marketing Manager: I analysed market research and developed a marketing and communications plan for a new product which was launched within Anglian Water Direct - Gap Year Advisor: As part of my community secondment I worked with Project Trust and presented at over 50 schools across the region on the benefits of taking a gap year.
