Overseeing the day-to-day operations of UW HaRRT Center programs, including program development, implementation and facilitation, planning outreach strategies to advance the projects, helping the PI with strategic thinking and direction of the overall programming, and interfacing with program participants and community partners. Hands on facilitation, development and implementation of the Doorway Project and LEAP research study programming.

RC2 in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (PBSCI) within the UW School of Medicine, University of Washington-Harborview Medical Center’s Harm Reduction Research & Treatment (HaRRT) Center. Duties include supporting current clinical research studies available at the HaRRT Center, coordinating research study activities, training and supervising RA's and students, development of original intervention materials, content creation and distribution, facilitating of interventions, data integrity/quality control, use statistical and database management programs to analyze data and prepare summary narrative reports, graphs, tables, charts and illustrations.

Under the direction of the Principal Investigators, RC1 coordinates and perform work in support of clinical, biomedical and/or behavioral sciences research studies being conducted by faculty members from the University of Washington-Harborview Medical Center’s Harm Reduction Research & Treatment (HaRRT) Center. These community-based research studies involve developing, implementing, and testing the efficacy of clinical interventions in the context of controlled trials with people who use substances and their communities.Responsibilities:• Coordinate, schedule, and monitor various research study activities, including recording study group assignments, tracking participants, retrieving study medications from the investigational drug services, scheduling study meetings, and tracking all elements of the study• Inform potential participants and research site staff about current clinical research studies available through the HaRRT Center;• Ensure consistent delivery of research protocols across studies and sites• Assist in establishing/maintaining contacts with community agencies/ members of the study team• Serve as primary contact with study participants, study partners, and study sites• Help facilitate relevant community meetings and send reminders• Facilitate community engagement opportunities (e.g., meaningful engagement programming at study sites)• Produce original intervention materials and programing content• Work with other HaRRT Center research coordinators to support data management (qualitative and quantitative) and participant databases (e.g. RedCap) for relevant studies• Conduct treatment adherence and competence coding, where relevant• Conduct focus groups and one on one interviews with the study populations, as required• Manage lab trainees and project-specific research study assistants• Perform the duties of a research study assistant as necessary

Supports projects operating out of the Harm Reduction Research and Treatment (HaRRT) Center located in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington – Harborview Medical Center. Conducts research and evaluations, including biomedical and/or behavioral sciences studies that aim to reduce substance related harm and improve the quality of life for substance users and their communities, including people experiencing homelessness.

Provide expertise and capacity in the following areas: research, writing, editing, recommendations, and review of research-based, culturally relevant website content related to college and career access and success. Works with Program Team to explore topics and write content for largely BIPOC and LGBTQ+ audiences aged 16-24 focused on navigating mental health challenges that emerge in the later years of high school and through the transition to college.

Led the Mental Health Matters of WA (grant-funded, community program) inaugural Youth Advisory Board, helping to engage, mentor, and inspire youth to develop youth-centered initiatives and activities that promote mental health for all. Supervised youth cohort in developing and implementing final projects in the form of youth-centered health community promotions.

Manage operations of overnight shelter program that serves homeless parents, women, and children who are in need of a safe setting.● Act as managing supervisor for support staff, conduct mentoring and provide consistent leadership.● Enforce Mary's Place rules and policies, ensure responsibilities are carried out by staff.● Assist homeless families with any issues that may arise, work directly with guests to provide basic care, crisis management, setting appropriate limits, and provide a supportive environment.● Assist site Director in maintaining shelter staffing.● Facilitate emergency intakes, training, and coordination of volunteer activities.● Possess working knowledge of outside agencies that provide in-kind and client services (e.g., ID assistance, food banks, etc.).

• Collaboratively worked with community partners to provide program Mary's Place family shelter program assessment and recommendations for pregnancy care delivery in shelter/ unhoused settings. • Compiled literature review for community partners surrounding research and methods of care delivery used in transitional housing. Synthesized results from the population need assessment and recommendations for improvements to programs.

● Manage all building operations, operate all functions in the lobby office, including monitoring security and checking visitors in and out.● Provide support for clients in crisis, assist clinical staff in the initiation, facilitation, and promotion of on-site activities, therapeutic support groups, outings, and community meetings. Assist clinical staff in engaging residents through creative, resourceful strategies that build trust and confidence.● Intervene in crises, respond to emergencies, and initiate action and de-escalation tactics as required, including contact with emergency response systems. Record significant events involving residents and building operations activities in a daily/ clinical log.● Work cooperatively with clinical and maintenance staff sited at the project and with visiting providers. Refer residents to clinical and other staff/ support as necessary.● Community involvement and advocacy for at-risk/ vulnerable populations. Actively supporting the philosophy of housing first and harm reduction principles.● Working with clients that display a wide range of behaviors due to trauma and chronic houslessness.

Operates as a single point of contact to daily incoming inquiries utilizing cross functional knowledge. Provides business expertise for functional areas. Serves as consultant for escalated problem resolution, providing coaching, advice and decisions to both internal and external customers. Maintain and analyze daily statistics to identify trends and recommend/ implement future service enhancements. Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to identify and improve upon opportunities for business efficiency.
