Supervised up to eight Electrical Supply Operatives/Labourers continuously installing and maintaining underground electrical infrastructure across the Central Coast area, between Newcastle and Sydney:WHS Duties-Conducted quarterly WHS audits on the work depot and daily work site WHS inspections.-As WHS representative and Health and Safety Representative (HSR) for the team for approximately 6 years, I identified the need for and implemented numerous safety systems and changes. E.g.:-Wrote & implemented a course for the use of hazardous equipment.-Wrote Safe Operating Procedure (SOP) for use of static cable drums. -Involved with review of Ausgrid’s Be-Safe Procedures, depot audits and the daily implementation of Ausgrid’s philosophy of Stop, Think, Do. -As Health and Safety Representative (HSR) I had authority to issue Personal Infringement Notices (PINs).-Supervisor Duties-Allocated staff resources and equipment/machinery between planned work and ad hoc network faults and emergencies. -Managed the safe use of heavy plant and equipment including trucks, excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes and forklifts. -Communicated positively and clearly with management, staff, other agencies and authorities as well as clients.-Liaised positively with clients in high pressure situations, e.g. regarding service cut-outs, black-outs and service pricing. -Actively listened and took all questions/complaints seriously.-Resolved issues on-the-spot through positive communication/ negotiation, or organized to resolve them in a timely manner through referral to the relevant section within Ausgrid.-Led the team to formulate specific WHS plans for each site individually, including Hazard Assessment Checks (HACs) for use alongside the Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to meet all safe work criteria.-Oversaw implementation of Traffic Control Plans (TCPs), submitted in association with our HAC by contractors at the start
