Profile bio

About Aaron Delaby

I’ve always been curious about how things work. I rebuilt the engine in my first car when I was 15 and the automatic transmission when I was 16. I learned a lot about mechanical design from that car as I executed my teenage driver reliability test plan and repaired or rebuilt the many "underdesigned" systems. Since that time mechanical design has become my passion and my life’s work.• I am a Senior Mechanical Design Engineering professional with over 30 years of experience designing hundreds of products for the industrial, military, and consumer markets, including life critical equipment.• I have worked on engineering teams for startups, small, medium and large companies as well as multinational corporations. I have worked independently, in small groups and on large cross-functional interdisciplinary teams and with engineers from around the world.• I have been involved in all phases of product development from initial concepts, industrial design, electro-mechanical design, prototyping, tooling production, verification, validation and reliability testing, manufacturing readiness, to production release, and worked closely with in-house manufacturing as well as foreign and domestic contract manufacturers and their engineering teams.• I am a creative and a critical thinker. I have a strong work ethic, I am very analytical, detail oriented, a problem-solver, highly focused on continuous improvement and meeting internal and external customer needs.• I am highly skilled at top-down design using SolidWorks and PTC Creo to design complex injection molded, insert molded, and over-molded plastic parts, as well as rubber molded, forged, machined, formed, metal injection molded, roto-molded, blow molded, sand cast, deep drawn, extruded, structural foam and vacuum formed parts. If you would like to find out more about the products I have worked on, and companies I have worked for, you can review my portfolio below.

Listed skills include Product Development, Design For Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and 14 others.
