About Aaron Derry
I’ve been in the education and training industry for over a decade, having gone between teaching and more HR-focused positions in public and private organizations. The roles so far have been quite different, but the goal is the same – to work on creating environments where people can thrive. A few of the highlights have been:The projects – I’ve worked on several initiatives for the Board of Education in Tokyo, and put together a large number of courses with documentation for tertiary institutions and businesses, with everyone wanting something different out of the product.The people – Creating an environment where people can grow, and encouraging/supporting them to achieve more. Definitely rewarding working with young adults in this respect, but I’ve found myself missing working with adults more lately.The challenge – Want to know about nutrition? Presentation skills? Business? Current research into black holes - okay, I did struggle a bit with some of that one. I’ve put together more materials on more different topics than I can remember. If I don’t know anything about a topic, there’s no doubt I can find out. I even built a database and UI for a previous company to better manage resources.
