    At AECOM, I am currently working alongside experienced engineers as part of the hydraulic analysis group. Some of my responsibilities include:- project management experience: working as a deputy project manager for >8 months on numerous projects within the AECOM Water business line. Creating monthly client invoices and progress reports, tracking project budgets internally, working with team to manage resources and complete projects within budget and on time.- hydraulic modelling: completing hydraulic modelling requests based on each projects scope using softwares InfoWater and InfoWater Pro on a regular basis. (examples include: existing and future water demand scenarios analysis, checking for adequate junction pressure and pipe velocity in the distribution system, fire flow analysis to ensure sufficient flow is available for emergency scenarios, etc.)- hydraulic model calibration and validation: creating a hydraulic water distribution InfoWater Pro model from scratch based on GIS water infrastructure and system data (flow, pressure, level, pump status, chlorine) as provided by the client. Creating a flow balance for the distribution system based on individual pressure zones, to determine boundary conditions. Incorporation of field data into model calibration to reach targets (flow/pressure monitoring, hydrant flow tests, c-factor testing). Validation of the model using an independent set of data to meet calibrations targets.- report writing: summarizing project methodology, results and engineering recommendations based on findings in the format of deliverable reports. Reviewing technical memos and reports for AECOM water business line and providing comments to ensure high quality deliverables.-client communication: attending project progress meetings to provide updates on deliverable timelines, update on project roadblocks, or additional information required. Preparing meeting minutes to document meeting action items.

    In this position, I gained experience in municipal water and wastewater modelling, as well as the process involved in model calibration from start to finish. I used InfoWorks ICM, InfoSewer and ArcMap extensively in this role. My major responsibilities are listed below.- Assisted with the ongoing maintenance of both water and wastewater models using Infoworks ICM and InfoWater. This included updating GIS layers from their source database, editing subcatchment shapefile boundaries, editing properties of nodes and pipes in the models.- Supported the calibration of our upcoming dynamic wastewater model project by gathering rain gauge and flow monitoring data, performing QA/QC on raw data and determining data gaps.- Reviewed development applications by modelling water and wastewater servicing scenarios, and assessing the results according to current guidelines and standards (Ex: Water/Wastewater DC Criteria, Fire Underwriter’s Survey, pressure and velocity guidelines, sewer surcharge risks).- Compared infrastructure data collected in the field with values in our models, including manhole lid elevations and inflow rates to all sewer pumping stations. Investigated causes for inconsistencies and shared findings with our hydraulic analysis team, resulting in overall model and system improvements.
