I love helping small business owners to reclaim their time, life and sanity! None of us start businesses to have it consume our entire lives, but that is what ends up happening by default if we survive the first 5 to 10 years which take out 96% of business start ups - if we don’t learn how to step back, stop wearing all the hats and start working on our business instead of in it every day! Delegation to competent management and employees is crucial, and having people on your team who share a vision is even more crucial! But if you have never shared with them what your vision is… How can you get them on board if they don’t understand it? As entrepreneurs, we tend to think that everyone else has the kind of energy, drive and vision that we do. It’s been one of my biggest “a-ha!“ Moments in the past 10 years to realize that this is really not true, and we are not in competition with the vast majority of our fellow humans. It takes every kind and many positions to make a team work, getting absolutely clear on what those are is one of the main responsibilities of the founder or CEO. Helping the founder to stay in their own lane, to discover and recover their Burning Desire, and assist them to continue putting their time in energy only in the most high value activities are ways that I love to help business owners. Seeing when there is a misalignment from the business owners stated desires versus how they are actually spending their time and what they’re accomplishing - this is my Zone of Genius.
