At a minimum, Branch offers bookkeeping services but our offerings expand with our clients' needs. We have helped our clients with high level tax advice, financial analysis, business advisory and COVID19 support.

Transitioned to an internal role for the first time of my career and leveraged my accounting/audit and consulting background to help lead, manage and fulfil SME responsibilities of two finance transformation projects involving the digitization and modernization of back office processes and technology. I also worked closely with the Partner Finance team to manage the distribution of PwC Australia profits to active partners and monitor compliance with the Partnership Agreement.

My experiences were within the Finance Consulting competency primarily offering Finance Transformation services. I helped my clients assess how they were executing financial activities (e.g. payroll, accounts payable/receivable, etc.) relative to best practice and whether process improvements could be made to achieve a desired outcome (e.g. reduced time and effort spent on a task). I also helped my clients understand and define more efficient and effective ways of conducting activities and whether certain tools could be leveraged or installed to help achieve an optimised state. Often times we would co-create business cases to support the need for change and a plan on how to get from where they are now to where they want to be.

I started my audit journey in New York and learned how to plan and execute financial statement audits for private companies. Relative to public company audits, private company audits were smaller and typically included clients with revenues of less than $1B. Our testing procedures primarily involved substantive procedures and limited test of controls. I am proficient in testing and reviewing most areas of the P&L, BS and Statement of Cash Flows. During my four year stint, I worked with clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail, professional services, private equity and agriculture. While in Sydney, I was provided the opportunity to train some of our junior staff members. I typically worked with another colleague to facilitate core audit trainings designed to upskill our audit staff and prepare them for the next stage of their careers.

• Financial Fraud Assessments – conducted internal investigations to increase transparency of company operations and reporting through interviews, documentation and visual mapping procedures. Analyzed process and system landscapes to identify possible design and/or control gaps that would enable a perpetrator to embezzle funds. • Compliance Assessments – performed KYC/ALML assessments to determine whether client policies were in compliance local and foreign KYC/AML regulations.
