I am a writer with an educational background in English language arts and literature, and in media studies. I’ve written thousands of pages of fiction and non-fictional material and can provide samples of essays, articles, and excerpts upon request.My particular interest is technology and electronic entertainment with focus on Nintendo, though portable gaming across many platforms has always been a topic I pursue with enthusiasm.My Nintendo 3DS’s step counter has more than 5,613,470 steps logged into it as I’ve carried it every time I left the house between 2011 and 2017, and now Nintendo Switch fills that role in my life, though I’ve been a hardcore portable gamer since the Game Gear and Game Boy in the early 90’s.I’ve covered many gaming console launch and press events held in New York City including live screenings of Nintendo’s E3 presentations and was the first person to film a “live E3 fan reaction” when I covered the Rockefeller Center simulcast of the Wii’s public reveal during E3 2006 in the days before YouTube, and was one of the first YouTube users to produce content about Nintendo 3DS, my first video on the platform appearing only 20 minutes or so following the initial Nintendo press release announcing the system, whose flagship launch event in NYC with appearances by then NOA president Reggie Fils-Amie I also covered.I then produced a series of videos which were a location tour where I visited areas in NYC which inspired towns and locations in the Pokémon Black and White games’ Unova region and explained the real life history that inspired the games.Five years of full time employment in a non-gaming related position drew me away from video game coverage, but I’d love to redirect my passion for portable gaming as a lifestyle, my interest in Nintendo, and passion for Pokémon into my professional life and look forward to that opportunity.I look forward to writing content that helps elevate the burgeoning Nintendo and portable gaming scenes.
