I represent the United States of America in criminal prosecutions in the Northern District of Ohio.

Puerto Rico

I represented the United States of America in criminal prosecutions in the District of Puerto Rico.

I handled adult felony criminal cases from arraignment to jury trial. I filed and responded to pre-trial motions, I met with the crime victims, eyewitnesses and law enforcement officers in preparation for each case. I handled high level felony cases including murders, robberies, burglaries and rape cases with adult or child victims.Highlights:-June, 2014, earned guilty verdict on 96 counts in death penalty eligible case. •State v. Dontay Taylor, Summit County Court of Common Pleas No. 2013-03-0816On February 14, 2014, earned guilty verdicts after jury trial on murder, three counts of felonious assault and one count of having a weapon while under a disability. The Defendant was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after serving thirty-eight years in prison. •State v. Clayton George, Summit County Court of Common Pleas No. 2012-09-2743On January 22, 2014, earned guilty verdicts after jury trial on two counts of rape. The two victims were under the age of ten. The Defendant presented an expert who testified that the victims were suffering from false memory syndrome. The Defendant is serving two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. •State v. John Wise, Summit County Court of Common Pleas No. 2012-08-2264November 8, 2013, earned guilty verdicts after jury trial on aggravated murder, murder and felonious assault. Defendant pled not guilty by reason of insanity. Defendant shot and killed his wife in an Akron hospital because he believed she was suffering. Defendant was sentenced to prison. •State v. Raymond Bushner, Summit County Court of Common Pleas No. 2011-12-3301On April 25, 2012, earned guilty verdicts on felonious assault, domestic violence, having weapon under disability, tampering with evidence and intimidation of a crime witness. Defendant claimed self-defense and attempted to use Ohio’s castle doctrine. He was sentenced to eighteen years in prison

Canton, Ohio

Prosecuted juvenile delinquency, adult criminal and appellate cases. Highlights:*Argued before the Ohio Supreme Court earning a unanimous decision. *Bound a juvenile over to adult criminal court on murder charges and then tried the case to a jury, earning a guilty verdict and a sentence of 30 years to life in prison. *Bound a juvenile over to adult criminal court on gang and aggravated robbery charges and then tried the case to a jury, earning a guilty verdict and a sentence of 16 years in prison.*Presented a CLE on juvenile delinquency law for the Stark County Bar Association including local judges and attorneys.*Gave a presentation to all of the law enforcement agencies in Stark County on changes in Ohio law regarding photo lineup and custodial interrogation procedures.
