I’m a rig welder that is currently working on a pipeline terminal for Energy Transfer/ Sunoco

As an infantry Squad Leader you are in charge of appx. 3 fire teams. Meaning I was responsible for 15 marines for an extended period of time.

I worked for Rusty's Wood Works from the age of 16 until I left for boot camp for the United States Marine Corps at age 18. As a shop hand I have had extensive practice in fabrication, working with various tools, and working hard for long hours. I learned the value of a good work ethic and time management to help complete jobs on a time sensitive schedule.

I began welding at age 16 in my agriculuture welding class and at home averaging 6-8 hours of welding per day. Having been raised in a small, agriculturally driven town, I have performed basic farm repair welding, assisted in welding on small metal buildings, and fabricated and repaired trailers. During my senior year, my Agriculture teacher assigned me the job of teaching new agriculture students the fundamentals and practical application of Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Gas Metal Arc Welding processes.

I am currently earning qualifications in Shielded Metal Arc Welding in 3G and 4G positions. While waiting 3 weeks for my qualification plates to be radiograph tested I have been practicing 6G open root pipe welding with assistance from welding teachers. We will soon start Gas Metal Arc Welding and Flux Core Arc Welding where I will also recieve qualifications. I am currently at the top of my class, and l am working diligently to recieve honor graduate upon completion.

I assisted in the construction and welding of large structural steel tanks in southern Mississippi.

As a team leader I was in charge of what we call a fire team. A fire team consist of appx. 4 marines in Nuclear Weapons Security we had 5 man fire teams for our specific mission. A team leader is the senior man/leader in a fire team. He is responsible for the tactical proficiency of his team and their performance on and off duty.
