The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) develops various electronic warfare systems for the military. As lead Information Systems Security Officer I oversee and manage the numerous classified networks within ELSYS where these technologies are developed. In 2012 GTRI received a Commendable rating during the Department of Security Services (DSS) annual vulnerability assessment. ELSYS was recognized as the lab with the highest security posture.• Manage the technical support staff responsible for supporting the information systems within the collateral areas• Provide maintenance and administration of the information systems• Implement security policies and maintain compliance of the Information Assurance program• Provide security training to all personnel working within the collateral areas• Configure, monitor, and audit computer and network systems to comply with security policy requirements• Research, test, and implement new security software and hardware technology’s • Advise and communicate with engineers, project directors, and branch of security related issues• Review and update lab wide information security documentation• Manage and monitor classified assets

The ELSYS Help Desk service provides IT support to engineers and researchers for both Unclassified and Classified network environments. As the senior member of the IT help desk staff I was responsible for training and educating junior members of the IT staff and resolving level two and level three support tickets. Other responsibilities and projects included Windows Server management, Cisco router configuration, building computers, and data recovery.
