I currently own and operate Padens Place in Ellsworth, KS. I cook daily and oversee all 23 staff members. Padens Place is two buildings that are connected one side being a restaurant and the other a Bar. In all we can seat 165 people at one time. I have technically worked for this company for 19 years and owned it for 9. I have worked every position possible for this company but mainly as head cook since ownership. This line of work takes someone who can multitask and handle the pressure of cooking 10+ tickets at a time with only 3 people in our kitchen. Training staff and managing them is also one of my top responsibilities. Sufficiently supplying inventory from multiple vendors on a weekly basis. Maintenance on building and grounds and community interaction. During the pandemic, I navigated our business through having our bar shut down and only being allowed to serve to go orders. I utilized the PPP program ensuring all our staff received paychecks during this time and I wrote my own grant applications and was lucky enough to receive two grants to help our company. During this time, I incorporated a new POS system to the company and by using handheld pos devices we were able to run customers cards in the parking lot. During the pandemic, I also added a mobile ordering app that was designed to communicate with the new POS system along with ordering capabilities from our website. This added revenue to our business during our closure and to this day. When I took over as owner, I decided to keep our restaurant open late for high school kids to come socialize and hang out with their friends and enjoy discounted burger specials after every Friday night game. By doing this you create memories and they will return as they age as my business will have a special place in their hearts I hope.

I earned field agent of the month multiple times and was an incentive trip attendee for selling over 100 life apps and meeting volume quota. I hold a CADD degree and I would use a 3D modeling program called Pro-E to duplicate and design many types of valve parts. I would also be asked to design tools needed to be used within the company for use of the manufacturing process. When we were working with our sister company in China I would have to convert their plans to our units and design parts based of those dimensions and plans.
