As a requirement of the BA-History and English, an internship was to be undertaken in the academic year of 20/21. While the University of Limerick offered interviews for various roles, I sought out this internship on my own behalf by means of correspondence with the principal of the school in question. After applying to the school and being accepted for the academic year of 20/21, paperwork relating to Garda vetting and all appropriate procedures were carried out in compliance with regulations set by the university and the school. Throughout the internship I was mainly involved with the secretary, who introduced me to the school's systems and various responsibilities that came with the position. Expertise with programmes such as Excel, Word, Vsware, PowerPoint and Google were all requirements for the internship as the school relied on technology to mark attendance and keep correspondence with parents/guardians and notices from staff. On other days, stationary and ink for the printer was to be maintained at all times, with deliveries organised every 3-4 weeks to maintain a productive environment.
