"Life Safety through Critical Communications" The most important tool we have in a critical situation is information. Information about a patient's status, if a subject has armed themselves, or the flight path to the nearest landing strip. My job is to design, build and ensure a last mile informative solution for boots on the ground.I work in the Land Mobile Radio field. As one of the original and most transformational electronic communication methods, two way radio has remained relevant for over a century, and continues to serve as the basis for many of the most advanced technologies of today. Many people ask "Who uses a radio these days?" Your cell phone, your WiFi, your Bluetooh, your television, satellite, cable TV, internet - modern radios!In terms of public and tactical safety, there remains a need for high powered, local voice communication using a chanellized PTT format. For one, this communication method is so ubiquitous and intuitive. Second,  it's less expensive to deploy and more reliable in most situations - often, tactical events are taking place where cellular signal is challenged due to outages, limited capacity, or poor propogation.To me, providing this last mile is number one in keeping people alive and safe. Heroes can't be heroes without the right intel on the ground, and my priority is to get it there. Whether it be LMR, data systems, or IP backhaul, I ensure that people who depend on my work can focus on the task at hand, knowing they have the communications they need - when they need it.
