• Sourcing a compelling range of products that meet customer expectations and generate increased demand • Work in conjunction with the Planner to create a seasonal buying plan and a monthly merchandise plan as associated with weekly forecasts • Conduct ½ yearly post season reviews with the Planner and agree forward department strategy aligned to company strategy and objectives • Work with the Planner on range assortments for store grading’s that flow through to the department option plan/buy plan • Deliver quality merchandise in line with agreed standards• Review weekly sales, GP$, GP% and stock to determine future forecasts, keeping in mind competitor activity and merchandise trends • Drive vendor negotiations to gain maximum rebates and subsidies to increase profitability • Manage purchases to OTB agreed in merchandise plan • Develop & present a marketing plan which delivers sales growth targets and aligns to the marketing strategy • Analyse the market and source product which reflects customer demand and the strategic direction as agreed with the GM and in accordance with the total HS customer strategy • Work closely with the Shanghai office to deliver on time/quality directly sourced product/ ranges • Ensuring all private brand merchandise is approved by QA in relation to fit/quality standards and meets all Australian regulations
