Staff in both the critical care (primary team) and emergency department (secondary team) at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Critical care units consist of a cardiovascular ICU and a neurosurgical/medical ICU. Daily responsibilities for staffing the critical care areas are verifying orders, attending daily rounds, assessing and completeing any and all consults (anticoagulation, kinetics, etc), profile reviews, responding to cardiopulomary codes, and precepting students/residents. Daily responsibilites for emergency department include verifying orders, assessing and completeing any and all consults, responding to all critical events, culture follow-up for all patient's discharged from the ED, and precepting students/residents.

Work as the clinical arm of the overnight staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Job responsibilities consist of verifying orders for all units in the hospital, responding to cardiopulmonary codes, and assessing and completing any anticoagulation or pharmacokinetic consults.

Worked as a Clinical Pharmacy Practice Resident at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. UMC is a 583 bed academic tertiary care center located in the heart of Las Vegas. It is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the area, and one of the few hospitals in the nation with a stand alone Trauma Center. It is also home to the Lions Burn Care Center, the only burn center in the region. The focus of my time was to not only gain the knowledge needed to work at a large, major medical hospital, but to focus on the critical care and infectious disease aspects of pharmacy. Throughout my time at UMC, I rotated through all ICU areas (cardiac, medical, trauma, neurosurgical, and surgical), rounded with the infectious disease team for 10 weeks, rounded with the general medicine and cardiology teams, and gained vital experience in the administrative process as the hospital was transitioning to an electronic medical record and computer physician order entry.
