Biomedical Engineer with over twelve years of research experience designing acoustical and biomedical signal processing algorithms seeking a research and development position where I can apply my knowledge of anatomy, biological systems modeling, and electrical engineering to diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices and techniques. A major portion of my dissertation research (Ph.D., Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University 2007) entailed developing a set of algorithms that utilized time- and frequency-domain analysis techniques to quantify distortion on propagating sound waves in liquid-filled tubes. These measurements were used to evaluate the efficacy of an acoustical transmission line model. During my postdoctoral training, I designed and implemented an ECG analysis algorithm that was used for rapid identification of premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) in long-duration ECG records measured from ambulatory pigs. The algorithm entailed PVC detection using a template-based cross correlation method and time stamping the irregular beats for subsequent identification of regions of consecutive PVCs. Our group successfully utilized this algorithm to examine the pro-arrhythmic effects of a novel myocardial therapy.Specialties: I am highly skilled in MATLAB, and the utilization of MATLAB to develop digital signal processing algorithm.
