It saves lawyers’ time and clients’ money, and makes drafting litigation documents smarter, faster, cheaper, and less awful.

At McCarthy Tétrault, I designed and implemented legal technologies that helped our lawyers be faster, more efficient, and better at what they do. I worked with the firm's senior leadership to visualize the future of the firm's knowledge management processes, connected with stakeholders to identify their needs, and created a roadmap for phasing new technologies into the firm's existing legal practices.

Rotated through the Technology, Communications, and Intellectual Property (TCIP), Business, and Litigation practice groups. Drafted briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda and discovery requests and responses. Prepared contracts, closing books, closing memoranda.

I was a legal intern at Project Genesis for the 2014-2015 academic year. I assisted Project Genesis'​ service users in a variety of landlord-tenant issues, including understanding lease terms and other contracts, explaining their rights and responsibilities, and assisting them in advocating for themselves at Quebec's landlord-tenant tribunal (the Régie du logement). I also provided information for service users navigating Quebec's welfare infrastructure, as well as Canada's federal pension system.

As a summer student at McCarthy Tétrault's Toronto office, I researched issues relating to technology and communications law, drafted facta for medical liability cases, and assisted in drafting contracts ensuring third-party regulatory compliance.

At the Berkman Center, I worked on Professor Jonathan Zittrain's H2O project — a set of free classroom tools that make casebooks free and collaborative. I worked directly with professors at Harvard Law School, assembling and editing their casebooks and bringing their curricula online. I also wrote a set of back-end tools in Javascript and Python that facilitated coordination among the H2O project's team members.

As Special Assistant to Professor Irwin Cotler, I drafted policy summaries in support of Prof. Cotler's Parliamentary interventions, as well as edited and Prof. Cotler's editorials on Canadian foreign policy in Iran and Syria. At the Montreal riding office, I was interim director for Prof. Cotler's immigration clinic, where I provided immigration counselling to low-income constituents.

At the Jerusalem Post, I wrote daily news and features stories for the main newspaper and affiliated magazines and websites. I covered multiple areas including Business, Technology, Politics, and Culture. Highlights include coverage of an American student kidnapped in Nablus, the outbreak of bird flu in Egypt, and a group of sumo wrestlers' official state visit to Israel.
