Once I’d finished my summer job in Polzeath, I found a job working at a bar to work part-time alongside my final year studies. The job includes serving customers at the bar for food and drinks and serving food as a food runner when needed. I help out with maintain that the bar is stocked and clean, as well as the rest of the establishment. I am part of a team that makes sure that the customers are catered for and looked after, as well making sure the shift runs smoothly with my colleagues.

When available to work, I would go to different companies to assist where needed. Generally my role included driving delivery vans up to 3.5 ton, as well as maybe being a delivery assistant (drivers mate) or warehouse assistant. This job was conducted part-time while studying at University.

After returning from my study abroad in the US, I got a job working at Surfside and Rum Bar in Polzeath, Cornwall, UK. Having been spent time as a customer in previous years, combined with my previous experience working in a seasonal job, I knew I was entering a very busy and hectic hospitality environment which would be new to me. When available I help at the on-campus NCAA sports events. Roles that I volunteered with include; setting up/ taking down the equipment, working on the concessions stand, hosting the playing teams and providing assistance when needed, working on the entrance gates/ ticketing, ball-person and chain gang (for American Football).

I worked as a Delivery Rider, delivering food from restaurants and fast food outlets to customers while using a bicycle as way of transport. This job is conducted while studying at University and spare time.

I would liaise with the warehouse Manager and supervisor whenever there may have been problem, or if I needed assistance with anything that I was out of my control, such as organising to rebook a delivery. On the occasions I was in the Warehouse taking deliveries from the main factory and suppliers, I was part of a team organising and preparing the warehouse for the day-to-day procedures, including the loading of the vans in the morning/ evening.
