Worked on two projects - the first project was examining how vegetative barriers can be used to mitigate air pollution at local scales. My role was in instrumentation deployment, maintenance, and data analysis. Additionally, I have generated a first-of-its-kind brochure informing local schools of responsible choices of plants for air pollution mitigation. The second project examined the proof-of-concept of using buses and RFID tags to measure temperatures of bus shelters in Phoenix. Having a continuous network of temperature observations could be helpful in mitigating heat. Additional efforts of the project are examining different heat mitigation strategies for bus shelters using technology developed by 3M.

Worked with Dr. John Schroeder on my M.S. thesis project. Was also the student lead of the Texas Tech University Hurricane Research Team - studied low-level wind characterization of land-falling hurricanes for the purposes of informing wind and storm surge models.

My project collected and analyzed pressure data from nanobarometers located at tower sites in a 200-turbine wind farm to better understand how turbulence is generated and effects wind turbine efficiency with ambitions to improve modeling techniques; also worked with a large group on a policy implementation project.
