Leveraging over 20 years driving social and environmental impact, I lead the Climate Safe Lending Network with a mission to accelerate climate action by lending institutions in order to support a just transition. My expertise in sustainability, executive leadership development, global education, and building partnerships is leveraged to convene key stakeholders and design initiatives that incentivize a net-zero future. My passion for climate action, fueled by research and extensive experience in climate and environmental education, advances the Network's mission of fostering a just and sustainable future through dynamic, experiential, inclusive, and action-based learning programs.

The MECCE Project is https://mecce.ca/ is a project of the Sustainability Education and Policy Network https://sepn.ca/The MECCE Project's goal is to advance global climate literacy and action through improving the quality and quantity of climate change education, training, and public awareness.The MECCE Project is an international partnership project focused on increasing context-informed understandings of quality climate communication and education (CCE) in policy and practice, as well as providing global data to support country benchmarking, target setting, and progress in quantity of CCE provision. MECCE is a partnership of over 100 scholars and organizations, including an Advisory Committee comprised of the IPCC, UNESCO, UNFCCC, and UNESCO Global Education Monitoring Report.As an advisor and researcher, I support partnerships and research across MECCE funded case studies around the globe.

I led change management and strategy in progressive leadership roles at World Learning, a global NGO working in more than 100 countries.  I built teams, cultivated a shared vision, launched dynamic programs, directed complex operations, and expanded global philanthropy and fundraising.  This required working with a broad set of skills in innovation, program and business development, change management, monitoring and evaluation, brand repositioning, complex internal and external relationship management, and strong financial management.  As part of  World Learning’s executive leadership, I directed cross-team collaboration for increasing private sector revenue generation and managed relationships with major donors and the World Learning board.

I directed the vision, strategy, and operations for The Experiment in International Living and served as its chief fundraiser. I worked with board members, individual donors, corporate partners, global philanthropy and family foundation offices, and a talented team on annual and special fundraising campaigns. I collaborated with other executive leaders on an integrated marketing and communications plan to reposition The Experiment in the broader marketplace. I directed a network of partnerships across the US and globe. All of these efforts elevated The Experiment’s brand, improved the bottom line, strengthened collaboration, and expanded impact.Since 1932, The Experiment in International Living has been cultivating young global leaders through immersive cross-cultural exchanges and innovative programs. As Executive Director of The Experiment in International Living, I directed development and delivery of global programs on six continents. These programs are on the cutting edge of youth development, global education, and experiential education.The Experiment programs addressed UN SDGs, racial equity, global leadership, politics, peace studies, conservation, LGBTQI+ rights, and other critical global issues. As a team, we established a systems-based approach to transform programs and operations. This included place-based partnerships with civil society, academic, and impact organizations in dozens of countries and the US. We developed The Experiment to be the most diverse and inclusive international exchange programs in the US--over 70% of The Experiment’s program participants represented BIPOC communities. Our program strategy took a systems-based approach to transforming engagement with partners, training staff, recruiting participants, and cultivating donor relationships. This strategy maintained partnerships with dozens of youth mentoring organizations. As part of this effort, we secured the largest corporate grants World Learning had received to date.

I co-taught graduate courses in the fundamentals of global philanthropy, corporate & institutional philanthropy, and nonprofit management with a focus in social impact and international sustainable development.

As chief executive at the Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute, a Northwest education and environmental nonprofit, I worked extensively with regional partners on conservation, preservation, and education initiatives. These innovative programs addressed multiple UN SDGs. I led strategic planning and building teams for consistent achievement of the organization’s mission and managed all systems, community engagement, philanthropy, direct marketing, board development, and partnerships. I managed partnerships with state, regional, and federal agencies as well as with school districts, educational institutions, corporate philanthropy offices, and community organizations. During my tenure at the institute, I completed my doctoral research and received my PhD in Education & Sustainability from Prescott College. My doctoral research focused on place-based education for sustainable development, youth empowerment, and community engagement.

I developed and managed inclusive community outreach, education, and training programs that impacted over 150,000 individuals annually. This included the management of complex budgets, development of grant management processes, and managing donor relations. I administered and managed three environmental science and education centers, developed ecotourism training programs for tour operators and developed grassroots community engagement programs. I coordinated a strategic plan for education programs and established a comprehensive evaluation system informed by data driven stakeholder engagement and direct impact on conservation objectives.

I launched Thorpe Foundation’s environmental programming and community engagement. To do this, I developed public and private sector partnerships across the region to provide innovative environmental and place-based education programs for rural and urban communities. I also expanded the foundation’s efforts in land conservation, watershed restoration, and community outreach. I developed, wrote, managed, and reported on federal, state, and foundation grants for all programs and built the team to scale up programs.

I was a mountain and river guide training community and corporate groups through extensive wilderness and outdoor leadership experiences. I learned how to assess, plan, navigate through, and manage risk. I trained leaders from local and regional grassroots organizations. I facilitated team offsite programs both in the boardroom and in wilderness areas for Fortune 500 companies. I cultivated transformation through organizational development, building teams, and navigating risk to advance common goals.
