As owner and craftsman at the American Craftsman, I manage client relationships, organize and keep my own business accounts, manage subcontractors, and handle all projects from the design phase to the finishing touches. I have built this business from the ground up. My business has become a success because of my ability to manage many aspects of a project while simultaneously maintaining positive relationships with both clients and subcontractors.

At Muscongus Bay I work in a detail oriented team environment where I am expected to research and understand the functions of certain systems used in the aquaculture business. I am required to work very closely with my upper management and rely heavily on quality communication both written and verbal. Part of my job at Muscongus Bay Aquaculture is to document new processes for future reference. I do this by taking extensive notes while executing the process, then I organize and finalize the wording while transferring it over to a word document.

As postulant and seminarian in the Anglican Dioceses of the Northeast (ACA), I am expected to serve at a church in the dioceses at least every Sunday. This service includes serving at the altar, preparing and teaching bible studies and adult education classes, and preaching from the pulpit. Other tasks have included starting a church mission, assisting with pastoral calls, and participating in the basics of church organization. My time as a postulant has given me practical application for the material learned at seminary.

At Kennebec Co I furthered my skills in woodworking. I gained talent in recreating historically designed cabinets using a variety of power and hand tools. Along with woodworking, my responsibilities included driving to clients’ homes and assuring satisfaction with purchased products. This task required me to communicate with upper management regarding issues and work progress. Other tasks included working as a point man on specific specialized projects and leading a team through demanding situations in order to meet deadlines.

At Wood Specialties I built custom cabinets for a company specializing in high-end interior carpentry. We designed, built, and installed custom woodwork for residential and ecclesial buildings. Through this work I attained high levels of woodworking skill and developed an eye for detail. This job required strenuous physical exertion in a fast-paced environment. This job also required a great deal of communication with a diverse group of co-workers and clients.

As owner of The American Handyman I managed a small business that worked in home repairs and renovations. This job required me to work both independently and as a team with my employees. Managing my own businesses also required me to handle money and manage my own business accounts. I was also charged with answering many questions from clients pertaining to home repair by writing emails, making phone calls, and communicating with individuals.

I worked my way into a management position at Crane Coffee by exceeding at customer service. My duties as a manager included overseeing other workers, handling and depositing money for the shop, daily balancing the till, cleaning and upkeep, and managing an employee schedule. I also regularly presented information about coffee and brewing processes to customers on an individual basis and in large group settings. During my time at Crane Coffee I was also charged with making several informational coffee presentations through video. Other responsibilities included organizing community boards, learning new procedures, training new employees on coffee processes, and interpreting all shop related information for customers on a daily basis.

I worked as a photographer for Iwen Exposures assisting in both commercial and wedding events. My job also included assisting a primary photographer while on photo shoots. This task included supplying him with equipment and lighting expertise during photo shoots. This position trained me to take direction well and gave me stamina for long work days. I was also charged with organizing large groups of people during photo shoots and practiced critical thinking on my feet while setting up lighting and camera equipment.
