A “hands-on” leader at Reworld, formerly known as Covanta, responsible for developing transformational and incremental improvement projects across the “end to end” value chain in the following areas: Margin enhancement, facility operations, maintenance management, ash/metals recovery, plant availability, regulatory constraint management, waste handling/cycle times (MSW, Profile, RMW), etc. This resulted in $6.9MM in EBITDA improvement.• Standardized Data: Automated data collection, preparation, and analysis from P&L statements to provide real-time insights to executive management during 2022 budget building. This became standard work, which made calculations and analysis uniform across regions. I also used this work to track project outcomes, and to quantify risk of missing year-end performance goals with regional management.• Engaged Stakeholders: Acted as the liaison between facility management and executive management to ensure project benefits and facility EBITDA were on track to achieve their targets. I tracked project KPIs, pro-actively identified gaps in performance, and formed a plan with the facility to close the gaps.• Greenbelts: Trained 6 lean six sigma greenbelts in DMAIC and led them to each complete their second project providing $0.8M in EBITDA improvement.

• Lean Short-Run: Worked on improving the stability of plant operations including: the steam cycle and turbine optimization, operator response, transfer station logistics, and Lean metals management. The largest project focused on reducing ash moisture which involved the following: o Developing a methodology for sampling ash moisture that is capable of depicting statistically significant differences due to changes made to the system with the goal of reducing ash moisture and increasing metals recovery from municipal waste to energy recovery processing systems. o Transforming the methodology into formal operating procedures to be utilized by the facilities.o Achieving $1.2MM in additional non-ferrous metal revenues and landfilling cost reductions.• Long-Run Growth: Calculated maximum organic growth potential for each plant to align capital plans for the following year with operating budget and to maximize EBITDA Margin.• Ash Extractor Sequencing: Developed controls for DLV and ESC facilities for consistent ash distribution.• Air Preheater Controls Automation: Designed P&ID and project plans for automated steam valve addition.• Flue Diagnostics: Conducted pitot traverses across the flue upstream and downstream of the scrubber for air in-leakage analysis.• Turbine Optimization: Studied turbine performance trends to identify vacuum optimization projects and decrease power variability through turbine inlet pressure set point changes.
