I have learned two things about myself that seem to drive me through any challenge I come across; teamwork is my favorite kind of work and creativity is my passion.>>>Teamwork is my favorite kind of work:I hate to lose at anything. I truly strive to be the best version of myself at whatever I am attempting. And I have found that I am the best version of myself when I am working in a team. Teammates are there to push me to be better, to hold me accountable for my success and my failures, to call me out when they know I am capable of more. As a team WE set the standard and WE help each other uphold that standard. And I measure my worth knowing that I gave to my team more than I took.These lessons were learned at a young age through team sports and then proven throughout my career in team environments.>>>Creativity is my passion:My first creative passion was poetry and art. When I was 8 years old, I loved writing a poem or drawing a picture and sharing it with my mom and Dad and seeing them react to my masterpiece and say something like “That’s pretty good!”.When I was 15 years old, I taught myself how to play the guitar and I quickly turned poetry in to songs. And, like before, I loved to share my creations with others. So I did!And I asked myself:“How is it possible that I have created something that never existed before? This thing that had never been and now was AND it brings joy to others AND it uplifts my soul?” This was the spark, this is now my passion; to create things that never were and to share them with others. In all of these creative ventures I found that doing without fear of failure is the best way to learn:- You want to create a song? Write a horrible song and do that repeatedly until you eventually write a song that you’re proud of.-You want to make a film? Grab a camera and go make a film and do that repeatedly until you eventually make something that you’re proud of.-You want to create a Web Application? Write some horrible code and do that repeatedly until eventually you’ve made something that you can be proud of.
