Design, development and manufacture of the only commercially available High-Purity Germanium (HPGe) Gamma-Ray Imaging detector system, packaged in a portable handheld device. The GeGI detector system is the industry leader in radioisotope detection, identification, localization, and source quantification. Customer applications include CBRNE, Nuclear Security, Nuclear Safeguards, Special Nuclear Material analysis, decommissioning, waste disposal and radiochemistry imaging. PHDS refines, grows and fabricates HPGe detectors for integration into in-house designed detector systems.

Design of first-of-kind Biomarker Generator for Dose-on-Demand, automated production and qualification of biomarkers for Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Developed system design of automated Chemistry Synthesis System, including patented microfluidic Dose Synthesis Card. Lead the automated Quality Control System development of HPLC-based QC of FDG doses using auto-sampling with UV-Vis, RI and Radiation detectors. Worked to create document control, inventory and purchasing systems from early stage (5 people) to late stage production (>40 people). The ABT Biomarker Generator small footprint cyclotron, radio-synthesis and QC system is capable of producing qualified radio-pharmaceutical doses with a single operator. Currently, over 20 units are installed on 5 continents.

Research, design and development PET, PET/MR, CT, and SPECT tomographic scanners for the preclinical research market. Responsible for board level PCB design, embedded firmware development, FPGA signal processing, software/GUI development, through system level design. The MicroPET R4/P4/Focus and Inveon line of Siemens Preclinical PET systems held a majority market share with a world-wide install base and are still workhorses in preclinical PET imaging.

Design of electronics, FPGA firmware and analysis software for inductive loop signature based intelligent transportation systems. Developed early internet-based remote control, live data streaming and live dashboard visualization. Projects included research grant with University of California - Irvine and CALTRANS to instrument the I-405 for realtime traffic tracking data streaming and dashboard.
