• Design and develop new products for Pope & Toro brands.• Design test rigs, jigs, fixtures, automation concepts using Solidworks, Creo and Windchill.• Evaluate and test products. Compile engineering reports to prove quality and develop products.• International and interstate travel to develop products, visit exhibitions and vendors.• Collaborate with Marketing and Industrial designers to produce project scopes.• Conduct pre-manufacturing validation through DFMEA reviews and 3D-printed prototypes (FDM & SLA).• Manage projects from conception to completion for products and plant.• Create tooling specifications, tool design reviews and approve designs.• Injection mould processing, providing support and coordinating trials for Adelaide and Xiamen factories.• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair test rigs, plant and Engineering facilities.• Producing data acquisition programs using DasyLAB and analogue IO-Tech acquisition cards.• Manage production for the laser barcoding cell.• Lead automation projects such as bulk packaging, bagging of products and laser barcoder.• Oversee the Engineering department during extended absences of the Engineering Manager.• Mentor and train new employees.

• Daily Toolroom tasks:- Manage a small toolroom of 6 employees.- Typical managers’ duties such as shift meetings, toolbox talks, training, safety and mentoring.- Keep records as required for the Toolroom employees and training.- Oversee the manufacture of new injection mould tools both locally and internationally.- Oversee the repairs of existing injection mould tools using internal and external toolmakers.- Develop and implement preventative maintenance service schedules for tooling.- Use EAM / CMMS software (Mainpac) to create tasks and produce toolroom schedules.- Generate KPI charts and prepare month-end reports- Create training materials.- Mitigate safety risks through thorough risk assessments and proactive planning.• Processing tasks:- Co-ordinate injection moulding tool & material trials. Collaborate with stakeholders.- Assist shop floor with moulding issues.- Consult with material suppliers.• Drawing Office Tasks:- Design moulded and fabricated products.- Design injection moulding tools.- Create site, product, customer, plant and ancillary equipment drawings using AutoCAD.- Maintain records for controlled drawings and revisions. - Maintain assets, tooling and drawing registers using MS Access.- Model products using Solidworks for production labels and tool manufacture.- Use Solidworks to review suppliers tool designs.• Maintaining BOM’s and routes.• Ensure products conform to ISO:9002 and contribute to annual audits conducted by SAI Global.• Customer complaint investigating & reporting.• Ensure compliance with WHS through audits, risk assessments and continuous improvement.• Chief warden and first aider.
