I currently oversee the Department of Defense information network operations for a battalion size element of 400 Soldiers. I am responsible for planning the communications network using redundant means of transport to meet the customer’s intent. Developing a primary, alternate, contingency, and emergency plan to mitigate the impact of degraded networks. Oversee cyberspace security throughout the network. Direct the actions and movements of communication assets through the orders process. Identifying and validating support requirements for communications assets and coordinate support through the supported customers. Consult with higher, lower, and adjacent headquarters to ensure effective communications throughout. Developing courses of actions and a draft scheme of communications support to determine the best employment of communications support from information gained during mission analysis.

This position is a dual status position as full time Training Officer and M-Day Assistant S3. The incumbent is responsible for the daily operations of the battalion to include metrics, battle rhythm, tasks, operations, training, and training resourcing for the 156 ESB. Formulates, oversees and evaluates the overall fielding's and training programs for the command. Develops yearly and longer training plans. Develops training for all units within the BN.
