NEW ROLE CREATION: Part of the work involved creating new roles to ensure the branch operates effectively and to further identify ways of improving as the branch continues to grow and expand our social impact.PARTNERSHIP: Driving progress in the successful integration and partnership with the Big 4 accounting firm EY, through communication, both internally and externally.BRAND AWARD: For delivering impactful work to our clients, through effective recruitment, training and planning, our branch was awarded with the best new branch for the EMEA region.

INCORPORATION: A major part of the role involved the creation of the Exeter branch, which included creating a business plan proposal detailing our plans for the year and we could maximise our social impact.RECRUITMENT: As a new branch I had the opportunity to hire our consultants. The application involved: a CV and application stage; an assessment centre; and final stage interviews. All of which I was heavily involved in.CLIENT & PARTNERSHIP ACQUISITION: This involved utilising my network to reach out to socially conscious organisations matching our values, as well as obtaining mentorship for our projects from Big 4 consulting firms.PROJECT CYCLES: During this period I have led 5 projects with 25 consultants, working on various deliverables in 3 different countries. Building on my use of technology to communicate effectively with team members and clients.

TECHNOLOGY: Developed proficiencies in utilising data analytics and auditing software such as Voyager and Inflo, using Microsoft Excel to ensure audit performance is maximised.PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Gain experience in project management on numerous public and private companies audits and varying team sizes/experience.COACHING: Developing my coaching skills through mentoring and guiding new joiners, including a workshop for the ACA Certificate exams to help them pass. Whilst also developing new ways to enhance their skills, knowledge and work performance.

CONFIDENCE: During the year I got a first-hand look at how to interact with clients, utilising my unique insight and putting my theoretical knowledge into practice. I developed my confidence levels and obtained a solid understanding of what it takes to succeed as a trainee, whilst learning about the vibrant and forward-thinking company and how I can contribute to it.

A two-month summer placement working in the Finance Department. CASH FLOW: During this time I have delivered a new and automatic cash flow statement, allowing me to demonstrate my proficiency in Excel. I have also worked on organising data that needed to be updated and corrected on the program named Hyperion Financial Management. PROBLEM-SOLVING: This developed my skills including, attention to detail and problem-solving. This period of practice experience has helped me gain a much deeper understanding of how a multi-national company manages their finances. I received very positive feedback about both the quality of my work and my positive attitude and have been invited back to work with the team during my next vacation.

TEAM WORK & QUALITY ASSURANCE: Part of the start-up team for a new superstore where quality assurance and professionalism were paramount.CUSTOMER SERVICES & COMMUNICATION: Member of the customer services team, dealing with front-line customer needs and complaints.MOTIVATION: Maintained the appearance of the shop floor by replenishing the shelves and cleaning.MONEY MANAGEMENT: Held the additional responsibility of handling money on a regular basis.
