I have overcome more in my short life than many conquer in a lifespan. Born with a hereditary eye condition that slowly deteriorates my central vision, I now have 15% of the vision of a fully sighted individual. I battled through hard times in my early teens but found the sport of triathlon and turned my life around. I have now reached the top in the sport of triathlon, winning 9 World Championships and 10 National Championships over my 15 years, but what I am most proud of is that I have become a leader and ambassador for those with disabilities to participate and compete in sport. The loss of my vision has taught me resiliency and has helped me excel in all aspects of life. At Michigan State University I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was the president of the MSU Triathlon Club. I have since graduated from the University of Washington with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and work with geriatric patients to maximize their mobility and quality of life. I am an experienced public speaker, having spoken at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, to Janus Financial Executives and members of the Young President's Organization (YPO) and around the country at schools and college campuses. Through partnerships with sponsors and organizations, I have gained great experience in marketing and branding. I have launched my CDifferentiwthAaron movement with the mission of changing society's perception of those with disabilities, teaching them to look at the world through a different set of eyes. I have my sights set on Rio for the 2016 Paralympic Games. I was the outright favorite to win gold in Paratriathlon until October 2014 when my category was unexpectedly cut from Rio.
