• Works side by side with controller in developing policy directives and implementing departmental procedures as well as assisting with month-end close.• Responsible for overseeing all client invoicing including collections, completion of pay applications and lien releases, and deposit reconciliations. Also administered processing purchase orders and check requests for all selling, general, and administrative expenses, permitting, etc. • Work with the management teams and purchasing department and management teams to assist with procurement and inventory procedures as well as managing of vendor payables.

Perform financial desk audits and internal investigations in an effort to deter/uncover fraud and/or theft. Report desk audit & investigation findings including trend analysis and submission of tracking reports. Assist management with policy recommendations based on identified risks from audit and investigation findings to develop appropriate action plans and internal controls to resolve operational anomalies and limit the company’s exposure to potential liability.

Prepare and review financial statements including bank account maintenance and reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger account analysis and reconciliation, and month-end financials for a portfolio of properties. Work closely with accounting, business, and investment managers to resolve accounting and related issues. Routinely perform daily activities including oversight of cash management to ensure timely payment of critical payments.

Taught macro and micro economics, business law, and principles of business. Taught concepts in micro and macro economics, including interest rates, yield curves, trade cycle theory, price elasticity, elasticity in supply and demand and monetary policy in an accelerated course format. Taught concepts in principles of business and business law courses, including types and classifications of business organizations, contracts, bankruptcy, and other general topics. Tutored for all levels of accounting and economics classed offered. Developed lesson plans, mentored, and tutored students in the associate’s of management program and additional courses within the business curriculum while displaying strong communication and leadership skills.
