I am an organic chemist with backgrounds in molecular, chemical, and cancer biology. I am also very interested in science and health policy and have served as a member of the Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association Government Affairs Committee since April 2007. After my career in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry, I hope to eventually serve in government, either on policy committees or in elective office.Specialties: Biochemical assays, cell culture (bacterial, yeast, & mammalian), electrophoresis (protein & DNA), HPLC, immunoblotting, mass spectrometry, molecular cloning, NMR, organic synthesis, PCR, pharmacokinetics, protein purification, solid-phase peptide synthesis
