I am an individual who craves learning and enjoys grasping onto opportunities to expand and obtain new knowledge. Some of my favorite subjects to expand knowledge in include psychology, philosophy, human development and behavior, Astronomy, various sciences, computers, and technology. I enjoy working with people, especially those experiencing through difficult times. I believe I have a natural ability to connect with people on a level that they seem to perceive as non-threatening, accepting and open minded. My ability to connect with others lead me to my profession as a social worker and mental health therapist. Since graduating with my Bachelors in Social Work, I have worked in child protection. I have been an employee at the Elbert County Department of Health and Human Services since February 2007. Since that time, I have worked as an ongoing caseworker, connecting with clients, locating services, providing support, and helping to educate. My goal for every case is to ensure child safety within their environment and to make efforts to reunify families that have been separated due to child neglect and/or abuse. I currently hold a masters degree in social work and also currently work as a mental heath therapist. I primarily work with families, children, and adolescents. I greatly enjoy the work and population I work with, and hope to continue expanding my knowledge in the fields to better help those in need.
