I was a Summer Undergraduate Research Intern at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital during the summer of 2019. This was a 10-week program, starting on June 12th and ending on August 16th, 2019. I worked under Julie Glowacki, Ph.D., in the Skeletal Biology Laboratory at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Throughout my experience, I was trained in tissue culture, gene expression analysis, image quantification, and biostatistical analysis.I examined the lifespan prolonging effects of various drugs on human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). I treated cells with a range of doses for each drug and analyzed the gene expression of several cell-cycle regulating and pro-inflammatory genes. I presented my research findings at the Brigham Research Institute on August 12, 2019.

Worked on various research projects under Dr. Shane Barton, M.D. and Dr. Patrick Massey, M.D.I was employed as a student researcher at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport during the summer of 2018. My research under Dr. Barton was an outcomes study for the Segmental Revision System shoulder surgery. This project required me to communicate with hospitals to gather patient information and operation notes to compile a large database of all patient data and outcomes.For Dr. Massey, I used the Journal Citation Reports, PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and internet searches to compile a list of over 300 orthopedic journals to investigate. I then conducted an investigative search of each journal and created an extensive database of relevant journal/publisher information.
