Since joining the Leicester City Council, I have moved rapidly from a Customer Service Officer, which was a brand-new role introduced to enhance that the traveling experience at both of the Cities busy bus stations, to my current post as a City Centre Strategy Officer. I currently work as a part of the public transport team looking after a part of the Cities expanding Real Time Information network which has grown in both size across the network, as well as the number of predicted services provided on a daily basis over that past year. I work alongside a number of partner agencies such as Belfour Beatty who help to maintain the bus stop infrastructure, and FWT who produce a number of high timetables as well as City Maps. As a part of the Public Transport team I sit on our quarterly Bus Users Panel which is chaired currently by the Deputy Mayor. This groups main aim is to get feedback from different access groups and regular bus users as to what is or isn’t working across the bus network. I also run a monthly meeting with the Cities Bus Operator’s to discuss issues such as upcoming roadwork & Events.
