Alimak Group are a listed Swedish company that specialise in vertical transport with combined revenues over A$600M. Alimak acquired 100% of Facade Access Holdings Group (FAH) for A$120M in Feb 2017, purchasing it from Private Equity firm Wolseley PE.I was heavily involved in this sale, developing the integrated strategic forecasting model used in the CIP/IM process as well as managing the full VDD process. Prior to this sale transaction, FAH owned both the Manntech and CoxGomyl brands, which were competing brands in the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of BMU’s worldwide and have systems on nearly all of the world’s 20 tallest buildings.My early role in FAH was Group Finance Manager for the CoxGomyl. As part of the PE exit strategy for Wolseley, and prior to the eventual sale to Alimak, I was heavily involved in the acquisition and subsequent integration of the Manntech business. The 'umbrella brand' FAH Group was created on acquiring Manntech to allow the competing brands to continue in a niche market. Post acquisition, I was heavily involved in the roll out and training of management on commercial policy and procedure and align systems. Some projects included; the conversion of a German HGB accounting ledger to IFRS, the roll out of a commercial risk review framework, a new sales/project pricing tool and consolidating the CRMs into Salesforce. My role as VP Commercial - BMU BA for Alimak, was focused on the following functions of the Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) division;- Pricing and strategy tools- Review all material contracts globally- Strategic and annual budgeting processI was also heavily involved in the Alimak integration process, deploying the FAH commercial policies and procedures across the broader Alimak group.Prior to the Alimak sale, the FAH Group had revenues over A$170M+ and employed 700 staff across the globe.I was the Company Secretary for the parent company of FAH Group and attended all Board meetings.

As 2IC to the CFO, my responsibilities at CoxGomyl included all commercial and financial functions for the Group as well as Company Secretary at Board level. The commercial responsibilities encompass contract risk reviews (including insurances and pricing), strategic budgeting and working capital management projects. From a finance perspective my team (7 direct reports and approx 20 people globally) and I were responsible for delivering the regular monthly reporting to the Board as well as all other finance and treasury functions including annual external audits, tax strategy and Fx management for the global Group. Some key projects included;- the development of a consolidated WIP schedule that combined nine operating sales offices and centralised manufacturing facility in a single report- refined and harmonised the monthly reporting template used by all offices to prepare their monthly GM reports.- Successfully managed through two global financial audits without adjustment.- Recapitalised a USA subsidiary to better present its financial position for local projects as well as successfully secure a new, more cost effective bonding facility.CoxGomyl is a global engineering business that designs, manufactures, installs and services external building access solutions. It is a complex global business that manufactures highly technical equipment for the construction industry. Typically this equipment is used as a permanent means of accessing the external facade of tall and complex buildings for maintenance purposes, including; cleaning and replacing panels and windows. CoxGomyl have grown to become the global leader in their industry.The group employs approx 450 staff across the globe with the majority of employees working in engineering and production/manufacturing. The group has manufacturing facilities in Europe and enjoys a strong global sales presence through nine Sales Offices and network of Distributors around the world.

My role as Financial Controller at APM Group incorporated responsibility for all of the Finance, Administration and IT functions in the business.Key initiatives completed:- Refining and improving the efficiency of the finance function and creating a stronger link into the project management teams.- Development of new monthly reporting package for the Board to allow for more succinct, consistent and timely reporting of the key business drivers and risks.- Working with our Bankers to develop industry leading Bank Guarantee facility; taking a new 'risk based' approach to the security collateral on the facility.- Overseeing the full upgrade of IT hardware and 'virtualisation' of the entire network including improved network efficiency, remote access, DRP and network stability.- Lead and managed the business transition into a new fully integrated project management and financial system that included invoice scanning and online approvals; a real shift to a paperless office.APM Group was a Victorian based, mid-tier commercial construction group that participated in the $15M to $30M contract value space.
