Interviewed entire production staff.Submitted a comprehensive workflow report that served as a blueprint to design and implement the following tools and workflow overhauls.ShowArchiveInitiated project to digitally archive the entire 25 year catalog of The Oprah Winfrey Show aired episodes. Served as Project Manager and worked closely with vendor to enhance the web based platform functionality. ShowArchive is an ongoing archive that now contains all Harpo produced shows for the OWN network and has become an invaluable tool for producers to search and review shows for repurposing into new content. Transcripts are synced with video and searchable. Selected clips can be exported directly into Avid for editing and web links can be sent for remote user review. It is used by multiple departments and greatly enhances efficiency. Video Review and ApprovalDesigned, managed development and deployed an innovative web based video review and approval system that completely eliminated the need for tape based review. System held all production elements: field footage, edited packages (all versions), promos and complete show tapings. Included tools for loggers to transcribe field footage. The improved workflow with transcription search, timecode based commenting, and version tracking saved countless hours in a fast paced editing environment. Used by all departments to access and review production video.HarpoDBConceived and co-developed a web accessible production database to centralize all show metadata. System used by several departments to access data, increasing efficiency. Edit teams gained organizational system for editing projects and tracking all versions of edited pieces. Producers created interactive show rundowns with automatic timing calculations. Incorporated new episode numbering scheme to increase efficiency.
