Accountable for the development and benefits realisation from Data Science and Analytics within the Commercial and Aviation areas across the whole TUI Group. TUI sees Data Science as critical to its future growth and together with my team I am leading a number of high profile group programmes within the Purchasing, Pricing, Yield and Airline operations. Additionally for the Northern Region I am also driving projects to ensure we join up the data and thinking across the commercial, digital and marketing functions so that we deliver a great customer experience and make the best of use of the latest technology innovations (machine learning, optimisation, simulation) and agile ways of working to deliver value fast.

A new role created to drive forward the application and benefits from analytics within the UK and Northern Region, ensuring that TUI leverages the potential from data and analytical techniques to deliver superior and personalised customer experiences whilst maximising commercial and operational performance. The role involves working across all areas of the Northern Region (UK, Ireland, Nordic, Canada, Russia) to bring together previously silo'd thinking, ensure the delivery of key projects and strengthen TUI's analytical capability.

Key accountabilties:Definition, delivery and implementation of the technology roadmap for the UK & Ireland Commercial Division including yield, pricing, purchasing, aviation planning and product planning.Ensuring full benefit realisation from yield deployments and that yield systems have high levels of availability and data integrity.Rollout of the UK yield system to other source markets and ensuring the sharing of best practice. The UK in-house system is currently deployed in the French, Nordic and Ski businesses.Provision of analytics consultancy to improve decision-making in key business processes both within Commercial and across the UK business

A key achievement in this role was the development and implementation of a new in-house yield solution. The solution combined bespoke forecasting algorithms and business logic to re-price holidays hourly seven days a week with a trading workstation that delivered complete transparency of decision-making and enhanced exception reporting.
