• Assist the Software Engineering Directorate and the Missile Defense Agency’s IV&V effort for several different classified missile systems.• Supported the development of the LV-2 Hardware-in-the-Loop Design Definition Document. This document describes in detail all the different flight components, connectors, and cables that make up the Hardware-in-the-Loop.• Supported the development of the Extended Medium Range Ballistic Missile (eMRBM) Hardware-in-the-Loop Design Definition Document. This document describes in detail all the different flight components, connectors, and cables that make up the Hardware-in-the-Loop.• Act as our IV&V team’s internal configuration manager, updating our internal change request forms, and Item Discrepancy spreadsheet. • Worked the logistics of borrowing a Space Shuttle Space Integrated GPS/INS (SIGI) from Johnson Space Center for use in our classified lab until ours was delivered by Honeywell.• Collect and maintain all requirement/specification documents pertaining to six different missions encompassing four different missile systems.• Represent the government customer and the IV&V group in weekly reviews and boards with the Missile Defense Agency project managers (both civilian and military). During these meetings I give an overview of our schedule, costs, and any issues or concerns we are currently tracking.• Worked the logistics of flight hardware deliveries to the Software Engineering Directorate from Lockheed Martin and Orbital Science. This includes all flight hardware in use with our hardware-in-the-loop set-ups.
Systems Requirements Lead Ares I-X First Stage
* Supported the development of Ares I-X First Stage Element Requirements Document. This document was a joint venture by NASA and ATK to describe what was to be expected of the First Stage Element for Ares I-X. It laid out everything from the performance requirements, to the type of paint to use.* Assisted with the development our First Stage Project Schedule regarding the manufacture, delivery, and launch. This schedule tracked both man-hours and hardware flow in Promontory, Utah and Major Tool and Motor; * Worked Logistics for First Stage Hardware delivery from the manufacturers to Kennedy Space Center. Looked at several different options, which included land, air, and sea.* Handled all Configuration Management regarding all First Stage Change Requests and Waivers prior to launch. I also tracked all change requests that came to the First Stage to review. Once we reviewed the information, I compiled all our comments and would submit to the Control Board for acceptance.* Resource Management for transfer of historical Shuttle hardware over to the Ares First Stage Project Office. To cut the cost of the First Stage Element, we used what we could from the Space Shuttle Program. This included Solid Rocket Booster Segments, the Aft Skirt, and Space Shuttle Thrust Vector control system to gimble the nozzle. Our team also worked with Kennedy Space Center's Ground Operations group to make appropriate modifications in the Vehicle Assembly Building, where the Ares I-X was stacked and prepared for rollout to the launch pad. Modifications were also made at the launch pad to accommodate the 327-foot tall flight test vehicle.* Participated in Post Flight "Lessons Learned" Study.
