I wrote the assembly and test procedures for the data acquisition unit (DAQ) used in the latest iteration of an ISS microgravity experiment exploring 2-phase flow and thermal management techniques and practices (FBCE).

I specialized in electromechanical sensors and measurement systems. I helped industrial customers build and maintain automation systems that were tailored to their specific application by providing technical documentation and consulting when requested. I also worked in the Applications Engineer Lab to construct analog environments to test new sensor configurations, ensuring high quality service to the customers. I digitized the administrative office operations and created networked databases for multiple UPS locations. I created a GUI to link these databases, which put all pertinent driver, route, customer and scheduling information in one easy-to-navigate location. The GUI was also able to generate reports and automatically process information into appropriate spreadsheets using embedded macros, VBScript, and cross-platform automation.

I assembled and repaired vehicle interlock systems at the board level in an ESD-protected lab environment. After the PCBs are printed, I would populate the surface mount components using applicable solder and reflow stations. Some repairs with more physical damage or signs of tampering would involve troubleshooting with a microscope and multimeter to find broken traces and faulty components. After the build or repair is complete, several tests would be performed to ensure operation within a desired range before redistribution. I documented any unique situation I came across, as well as what I did to fix it. This document was then shared via network and used by multiple technicians, so we could share in our successful repair techniques, and elevate common problems to the engineering team.
