I am a firm believer in every day should be taken on as a new challenge, and I have tried to live my life to that mantra to this. I faced many challenges in the Marine Corps and when transitioning to be a civilian, but I took every challenge head on. I gained many skills over my experiences in my life, but the main one I love to think about is my perseverance. From my experiences in the military in both Okinawa, Japan and North Carolina as a Supply Clerk/NCO, I feel like this gives me a bit of background in my degree, which is Supply Chain Management. Some of the duties I had that were relevant were tracking, ordering, and following through on items for my unit, whether it be as simple as office supplies or as large as barb wire. I did all this through communication constantly with vendors and leadership with the Marines under me. My U.S. Bank position was a change of pace for me, but extremely valuable and I enjoyed it a lot. My time at U.S. Bank reinforced my communication skills, but I also gained some experience in Customer Service amongst some other skills. I am very excited to be entering this field in the near future, as I view it as an important aspect of how a community functions on a day to day basis. After my schooling is done, I am looking for a job in the logistics field where I work directly with my suppliers so I can build a personal relationship with them and assist them as an intermediate.
