Compliance Analyst
Current• My work included regulatory oversight of various aspects of the mobile telecommunications industry, specifically the regulation of short code programs (i.e., “Dial BOSELEY to 56565”). • My primary responsibilities included creating and conducting compliance audits to simulate the mobile, in-market consumer experience. • I routinely utilized Internet and mobile devices from the major telecommunications carriers to ensure consumer purchases, data, privacy, and security are within the set guidelines. • My responsibilities also included monitoring and documenting consumer experiences associated with mobile apps, text message programs, digital advertising campaigns, and digital payment processes, as well as investigating businesses and individuals to identify high-risk industry participants and potential threats. • I periodically conducted privacy testing on mobile apps, documented consumer experience elements and data transmissions. • I also served as data subject matter expert and liaison between Operations, Product, and Engineering teams for product development, feature enhancement, and automation• I often liaised with our in-house Product Development team to determine and develop user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability, contributing to user acceptance and beta testing. • To take advantage of my software development background, I was tasked with designing, building, testing, and maintaining a proprietary file aggregation tool using Python. • For the duration of this project, I was able to demonstrate my technical expertise by producing timely results and consistency while following software best practices regarding scalability, testing, performance, and security. • Finally, as the first member of the Compliance team to be trained completely in a remote environment, I took it upon myself to document the training process via written and illustrated instructions along with video tutorials.
