I have close to 25 years experience in the fire protection industry here in NZ and have been involved in the design & execution of a large number of technical fire protection projects. Some of these include the Waterview and Lyttelton tunnel projects, NAP & KGL geothermal power stations, and Te Awa shopping mall.I started in the fire protection industry as a school boy working school holidays as a sprinkler fitter with my late father. I was then offered a job as a fire alarm technician for one of NZ’s premier fire contractors, where I spent the next 16 years growing and developing my skills. My talent as a problem solver was quickly noticed that after only 4-5 years I was promoted to a supervisor, estimator, project manager, then the alarms manager for the Bay of Plenty/Waikato regions.During the next 10 years my development saw me promoted into several national roles responsible for company strategy and technology, along with being an integral member of the senior executive management team.I was also responsible for running and growing the product distribution business, and a member of the New Zealand Fire Equipment Manufacturers Association.Tekin Industries was established in 2019 so I could take those problem solving skills, along with many others gained, and offer these to the NZ fire protection industry.
