I have worked in advertising and the publishing industries, both in studio and as a freelancer. Some of the experience I have on projects I have been involved with are:• branding and marketing toolkit and style guidelines, which includes logo variations, social media banners, icons, templates for print and online content• photo editing, colour correction and photo mashes• children’s illustrated story books, content for anthologies and books• album covers, shirt designs, and other promotional materials for songwriters and bands• package design, brochures, business cards, letterheads and point of sales• pieces of art for puzzles (both cardboard and wood) as well as creating the cut-file for the puzzle pieces• beer can labels for a few different breweries• item icons, background and character designs for a company developing games on Facebook• architectural concept art for architectural firmsIn my spare time, I undertake personal illustrations, which include the ink series ‘A Delicate Balance’ and my Tree Project (a small pocket sketchbook to draw on the go, which I am filling with stylised trees). ‘A Delicate Balance’ is a series of highly detailed surreal castles, which have been exhibited in Australia, The United States, and Canada, and have been featured in multiple publications. Each of these illustrations takes 100+ hours to draw by hand using 0.5mm Micron pens. These pieces are then scanned and coloured digitally using Photoshop or Procreate, with attention paid to the finest detail.

I would create illustrations either from scratch or from brand assets from companies and make unique one off advertising campaigns. These illustrations would then be plotted and painted up on walls by a team of graffiti artists. Worked for companies such as Ford, Maker’s Mark, Neutrogena, Dell, Bethesda, ID Software and Alienware. I was only there for a few months until everything got fucked by the long dick of COVID.

Part time from 1997-2001 Full time from 2001-2009 and 2015-2018For over 10 years, I managed a paint and finishing shop in a high-end woodwork manufacturing plant. There we serviced large-scale contracts (ie. Nike Headquarters, Amazon Headquarters, sports arenas, convention centres, casinos, government facilities, etc.) that demanded the utmost quality and workmanship. I would manage and delegate a team, train employees, understand and schedule (prep work, spray time, drying and turnaround), as well as quality control while spending a majority of the day spraying inside a spray booth. All the while, I would approach and deal with my team (which varied between 4 to 12 people), clients, sales representatives, and management in a calm and supporting manner. This gave me a great understanding of the importance of speed, while being organized and not sacrificing quality. In this role I am also responsible for colour matching architectural control samples to which, with my knowledge of colour theory I am to make a stain from scratch, which relates to my artistic side a bit more. Because of this role I am very versatile in the work environment, know how to work fast under pressure and within tight deadlines while never sacrificing quality. I am good with my hands, well versed with machinery, equipment and hand/power tools as I have also been on the woodworking production side of the shop for many years and ran many of the various machines and tools. I am good with people, have patience and understanding, and I communicate well with individuals and groups alike.

I worked for two different commecial sign shops in Melbourne Australia. Because of restriction under my Working Holiday Visa I was only able to work for 6 months with a company. Since my roles were very similar at both locations, I grouped them together.I would take a client work order and use Photoshop and Illustrator to create or edit artwork and layout a sign using artwork and text. I would then make up a brief in which I would take photographs of the clients business and superimpose the signage on top to get their approval. In the shop I would use a digital printer, but more commonly a vinyl cutter to create elements, which, myself and one other person would lay up on panels of various different substrates. Some signs I designed would be sent off to another contractor to be manufactured in 3D plastic, metal or out of neon light bulbs. I often go to the client’s premises as part of a team to install the signage or apply vinyl to windows.
