I helped Lac La Biche County establish a comprehensive law enforcement training program. My role was 85% curriculum design, policy creation, liaising with stakeholders and being the lead instructor for the first class of cadets. 15% of my role was spent on the road assisting other officers with calls of service, traffic, and bylaw enforcement.

Training Academy

I have been fortunate enough to continue a role as a guest training instructor for the Justice and Solicitor General Training Academy. I started out helping with the provincial fire training program, teaching new correctional officers the dangers of dealing with fire in a jail setting, how to properly put bunker gear on, effectively wear an SCBA and do proper search techniques. After doing that for a few years I received my PPCT instructors certificate, among other combatives training certificates and became a use of force instructor for the training academy. I have taught all recruits from Sheriffs, Corrections (Adult and Youth) and Community Peace Officers.

Leduc County, Ab

I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to join a comprehensive fire department that has allowed me room to grow and continue to be ambitious. Throughout my time with Leduc County Fire Services I have received a myriad of professional fire fighting certificates and have become the training officer for my district. While reporting to my deputy fire chief of training, I ensure that all training material is covered, floor staff are receiving and retaining information and will continue to perform on the fire ground. With this position, it has given me a unique opportunity to create new training material in order to continually challenge new and senior staff alike. Also, it has given me an opportunity to tap into the vast resources I have worked with within law enforcement and try and bridge the gap from both worlds. I continue to do research in order to grow and ensure the safety of my crew and anyone I train that joins our department. I will continue to learn as I believe if we stop learning...it's time to retire.
