I worked with a small team to build tools that power applications with data-based intelligence. Main projects included: inbound sales email parsing, dynamic pricing recommendations, fuel purchase optimization, and flight scheduling and routing.Our inbound sales engine processes over 20k leads per month with AI and facilitated over $25MM in sales in 2023.

I drove data quality improvements in our database and supported the transition to a centralized data platform. I developed and deployed machine learning models for predicting flight time, forecasting flight demand, and forecasting aircraft availability.For example, the flight time model can predict times between any two airports in the world for multiple aircraft size classes with out-of-sample accuracy <10 minutes.

I led product decisions for a team that built embedded, client-facing analytics. We established the connection between an existing application and a newly-developed data warehouse/pipeline. I also worked with executives and designers to guide the vision for analytics in the product.

I guided strategy across five product teams and mentored other product managers. I also prioritized and defined user problems on a software development team that was building a greenfield data and reporting suite.

I outlined a roadmap and prioritized a backlog to help a team of software engineers and data scientists build software for public transit agencies. My work advanced from managing our on-demand transit scheduling algorithm and other data products to managing the entire on-demand product line.

I worked with stakeholders to build and launch a transit simulation product that provided data-driven decision support for clients (generating $400k/yr in proof-of-concept revenue). I collaborated with customers and software engineers to improve the product. I led the transition of this product into maintenance mode and then facilitated its sunset.

I built data infrastructure and analysis models for an international environmental sensor network. I created online data access and visualization tools that are facilitating scientific discovery by research partners.

I built statistical models for environmental sensor networks (mostly spatio-temporal Bayesian models).

I compiled, managed, organized, and analyzed agricultural databases. This work resulted in multiple scientific publications and contributed to new products in the Food and Agriculture Organization's statistics database.

I taught undergraduate courses in Environmental Biology. I created engaging lectures and active-learning data analysis exercises. I developed a new course from scratch (Global Change Biology).
