I am a professional dedicated to helping people find solutions and figure out what the best path forward is for them. That is why I love the work I do in higher education so much. Every day, I get the opportunity to hear peoples stories and understand their personal struggles and experiences. I seek to help encourage those who are lost and unsure of what their next step should be. This isn't about telling people what to do, but rather helping them find that answer through open dialogue and personal understanding. I have been fortunate enough to have done this work throughout my career, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.I have several years of residence life experience under my belt and my newest experience is as a Success Advisor for the College of Business at Ohio University. My role as a Success Advisor is a hybrid of being an Academic Advisor and a Career Coach all rolled into one. This allows me to meet with students at several points throughout their academic career. I utilize my skills of student development, retention strategies, and motivational interviewing to best understand and support my students in finding their path. I am able to utilize my bachelor's education of Marketing & Management to relate to my students course work and my Master's Degree of Student Personnel Administration to focus on their development and growth while meeting with them.At my core, I want to help students succeed in their personal goals. I am dedicated to helping people in whatever way that I can and I'm rewarded to know that the work that I do has a positive impact on my students.
