I covered Iowa basketball and preps in the Quad Cities, which sits on the border of Iowa and Illinois. There's a large emphasis on multimedia, so there is a ton of blogging, audio (BlogTalkRadio), video (Late Hits), Facebook (two accounts!) and Twitter (two more accounts!!) involved.

I covered all home games and most road and tournament games for the UW-Madison football and men's basketball teams, as well as some high school events in Madison that involve Janesville Parker and Janesville Craig teams.

I wrote about 50 stories on prep events around the state of Wisconsin, covering everything from football to hockey to boys' and girls' tennis. I also had a few assignments on UW non-revenue sports (wrestling, gymnastics and swimming). There was also a great deal of office work, recording high school box scores over the phone for the nightly "scoreboard" page as well as helping to put together the spring golf guides.

Interned for Drew Soicher, Rod Mackey, Susie Wargin and the rest of the KUSA-9NEWS (Denver, Colo.) sports department. Learned how to use Avid DS and Final Cut Pro to cut and edit video. Our group of interns also put together our own newscast at the end of the summer.

Ran the sports section for all of 2006, and served as a senior sports writer for 2007. Now I contribute as a guest columnist here and there.Covered volleyball (2005), football (2006), and men's hockey (2006-07) for the Herald, in addition to a weekly column. Overall I wrote over 160 stories for the nation's largest indepedent student newspaper.
